Olmstead Point

Yosemite has finally opened and along with it Tioga Pass. Tioga Road is a continuation of Highway 120 through the park to Highway 395 and the Eastern Sierras. Along the way you come to Olmstead Point, looking one way you see the back side of Half Dome, looking another you see Tenaya Lake. I climbed up a great granite rock face to get this view.

Yosemite hat endlich eröffnet und damit auch den Tioga Pass. Die Tioga Road ist eine Fortsetzung des Highway 120 durch den Park zum Highway 395 und den Eastern Sierras. Auf dem Weg kommen Sie zum Olmstead Point. Wenn Sie in eine Richtung die Rückseite des Half Dome sehen, sehen Sie in einer anderen Richtung den Tenaya-See. Ich stieg auf eine große Granitfelsenwand, um diese Aussicht zu bekommen.

Blumenoase

Überall in Wolfsburg findet man immer mehr solche Anpflanzungen mit einheimischen Wildblumen und Kräutern. Nicht nur für Bienen und andere Insekten sind dies kleine Oasen, sondern auch für uns Menschen. Besonders augenfällig ist dies an solchen Plätzen.
Everywhere in Wolfsburg you can find more and more such plantations with native wild flowers and herbs. These are small oases not only for bees and other insects, but also for us humans. This is particularly obvious in such places.

Mountain Bluebells.

These little guys are called Mountain Bluebells and the only place I have seen them is in the higher elevations of the Sierra Nevada. And only in two different areas. In the course of maturing they go from a pastel lavander/rose color to a pastel blue which makes for a pretty little bouquet. They are small and can be difficult to see in the tall grass and as is true for so many wildflowers, are very short-lived. I am happy I was able to see some. Stay healthy.
