Yesterday, I went together with two others photographing street life in Merced, California. My first real attempt in street photography. I was surprised how many interesting daily life situations walked in front of my camera.

If all you have is few bags….should I try to ask people for their life story?

Records and Reflections

A few friends and I were photographing in downtown Merced today. We got permission to photograph inside a music store. The owner was washing old records and I photographed them.

St. Adrian

Wenn größere Reisen (Corona bedingt) nicht möglich sind, muss man halt die nähere Umgebung erkunden. Und ich muss feststellen, dass es da so manches zu entdecken gibt. So wie hier Sankt Adrian, eine kleine Dorfkirche im Wolfsburger Ortsteil Heiligendorf. Sie stammt aus dem Jahr 1153 und ist seit 1534 eine evangelische Kirche.
If larger trips are not possible (due to Corona), you just have to explore the surrounding area. And I have to say that there are many things to discover. Like Saint Adrian, a small village church in the Heiligendorf district of Wolfsburg. It dates back to 1153 and has been a Protestant church since 1534.

Don’t Touch

A big part of the beauty of the desert environment is cactus. They come in many shapes, sizes, types of spines and color variation. This pineapple cactus with its subtle pink color and attractive spines is an example of the diversity of these interesting plants.

Warten auf den Frühling

Noch sind es nur vereinzelte Sonnentage, aber die Gärten sind vorbereitet. Der Frühling kann kommen.

There are still only isolated sunny days, but the gardens are prepared. Spring can come.

Recently, the flowers around my house have been blooming and I’ve been able to get some interesting shots of the flourishing foliage and flowers. Enjoy!

A Stag visiting (Ein Hirsch auf Besuch)

The summers are getting hotter and hotter. To help the wildlife along, I typically put up two baby pools full of water. One day, a stag came to visit and agreed to be the model for the day.

The Ahwahnee Bar

I was photographing around Yosemite and stopped by the Ahwahnee Hotel to get some shots of it while the snow fell. Heading back to my car to get my wallet so I could buy a chocolate truffle from the Sweet Shop, I walked in front of the bar and spotted the beverages along the back wall. You may notice the reflection on the posts from the plexiglass barrier. A little higher ISO and handheld, this is what I came up with.

Ich habe in der Nähe von Yosemite fotografiert und beim Ahwahnee Hotel angehalten, um ein paar Aufnahmen davon zu machen, während der Schnee fiel. Ich ging zurück zu meinem Auto, um meine Brieftasche zu holen, damit ich im Süßwarenladen einen Schokoladentrüffel kaufen konnte. Ich ging vor die Bar und entdeckte die Getränke an der Rückwand. Möglicherweise bemerken Sie die Reflexion auf den Pfosten von der Plexiglasbarriere. Etwas höhere ISO und Handheld, das habe ich mir ausgedacht.
