Gods, beggars and beasts

A long time ago I spent two month in India. As a friend said “India is not a country, it is a world”. It is so overwhelming and different that people get sick from sensual overload. Or, as the same friend keeps saying: “You have plans for India, but India has plans for you”. I had started to write a blog about my travels, but stopped after some month. Here is what was written….

This shot was taken by sheer accident in the town of Mandvi
Usually people in India like to be photographed
These two shots were taken in a Swaminarayan temple. We were even invited to have lunch there

I also have made a book. An extract can be viewed on blurb: https://www.blurb.co.uk/b/1581330-gods-beggars-and-beasts

Starry Night

This is my attempt at astrophotography and I also photoshopped a moon image that I had previously taken just to make the photo a little more interesting. I’ve been trying to improve on my night photography and this is one of the first images that I’ve taken where the stars appeared more visible than my previous attempts. Enjoy!

Hiking up to the Vernal Falls, Yosemite NP

On the trail, along the Merced River, there are many waterfalls. This photo was taken with a Nikon 750.

The next two photos were actually taken with the iPhone Xmax, using the Lightroom app with the Long Exposure setting, where the camera is taking very quickly multiple photos and then “noodles” those together.

Whoever has been to the Vernal Falls knows that the iPhone decided on its own to extend the waterfall to the left… looks good!

Don’t You Dare!!!!

I went to the Merced Wildlife Refuge a couple of times recently. The first time in the middle of the day I spotted 9 different raptors, most too far away to get a decent shot. This one seemed to be on a mission and never left his post.
