The city bridge connects downtown Wolfsburg with the Autostadt. It spans the tracks at Wolfsburg’s train station and the Mittelland Canal. However, it is seldom as deserted as it is here. At normal times, i.e. without Corona, the visitors of the Autostadt would walk over it in droves. On the other hand, this is an opportunity to photograph the bridge without people and to put the structure itself in the limelight. Like here on this sunny, but cold Friday afternoon two weeks ago

Schau ins Land

In 2004, the State Garden Show was held in Wolfsburg. Many exhibitors showed proposals for garden design. On the occasion of this exhibition, these three seating spheres were set up opposite Wolfsburg Castle. They look a bit battered by now, but they are still there!

Masquerade

Legend has it that the first carnival took place in Venice in 1162. However, there was a long break and the current festival started again in 1979. I went there several times in the 1980ies. Already then it started to get very busy. The visitors can be but in two main categories: narcissists who display elaborate masks and photographers. This year the carnival will start next Saturday, February 12th, and end on shrove Tuesday, March 1st.
