The little town of Schiedam is far less known than the tourist attractions of Amsterdam or Delft. However, it is full of monuments, windmills and old boats. The windmills were used to grind the grain used for Schiedam’s most important product, Genever, the local brandy. The bare trees of winter allow a much better view.
On our recent trip to Death Valley National Park we drove to Wildrose Canyon to see the Charcoal Kilns, one of the historical features of this National Park.
I found this tree with these beautiful orange leaves the other day. I love how the soft blue sky contrasts with the warm shade of the leaves, which perfectly outlines their lovely shape. I hope you all have a great Easter Sunday! Enjoy!
Happy Easter to all my family and friends. May your lives be blessed with love.
Friedhelm and I went to Hetch Hetchy the other day. Hetch Hetchy is called the other Yosemite Valley but was flooded in the 1930’s to provide water for the San Francisco Bay area. We will never again see the true beauty of this valley. This image shows two iconic features, the Wapama Falls on the left and Kolana granite face on the right.
Gilroy, CA is a small town south of San Francisco. It is considered the “Garlic Capital” of the USA because of the garlic processing plants in the area. You can eat garlic fries or even garlic ice cream here. I discovered some interesting buildings on the Main Street like this one. Enjoy!
