Cherry Tree in Blossom
Living on the water
Tonle Sap lake in Cambodia lives with the seasons. In the rainy season its size grows almost ten times to 24000 square km. However, its average depth is only 10 m. Villages float on the lake and move while its waters expand and retract. Here are some pictures of life on the water
Seven Sisters
We recently visited Valley of Fire in Nevada, a State Park with sculptures of red sandstone, which – according to Park information – was formed by shifting sand dunes 150 million years ago.
When entering the State Park from the West, short after the Entrance Gate the landscape changes totally to red rock formations.
One of these formations is called the Seven Sisters.
In Disguise
I took this photo shortly before the trees began to bloom again and later noticed the two little birds in disguise. I love how the black and white effect makes them blend in even more with the tree branches. Enjoy!
Traveling Against the Light
Going Somewhere
This is a little misleading. Looks like someone is going on vacation or taking a trip. Instead it’s a display at the Manzanar Relocation Camp where people of Japanese ancestry where interned during WWII. Most left only what they could carry, many lost their livelihoods, wealth and homes. I was moved by the exhibits and the fact that even in their dire state they made a life for themselves and their families.
Bird of Paradise
I used a Meyer Görlitz Domiplan 50mm lens to create this image. The lens produces a beautiful swirly background blur. Enjoy!
