This is the sewing machine and other sewing items my grandmother used for many, many years. It is actually still peddle powered though the leather belt is long gone.
Dies ist die Nähmaschine und andere Nähutensilien, die meine Großmutter viele, viele Jahre benutzt hat. Es ist eigentlich immer noch hausieren angetrieben, obwohl der Ledergürtel schon lange weg ist.
My first single reflex camera was a Minolta. Over the years my Minolta camera gear grew quite a bit. For our ”Still Life” project I picked three lenses, bellows for macro photography, a lens box and a film. As a background I picked a book cabinet and I decided to lay the camera equipment on a black fabric. In order to illuminate my subject properly I used window light from the left hand side and a weaker video light on the right hand side. I photographed the still life with a Tamron 80-200 vintage lens and a full frame camera. Enjoy!
Ich hatte zu unserem heutigen Thema “Stillleben” wieder mal die Qual der Wahl und konnte mich nicht so recht entscheiden, welches Foto ich nehmen sollte.
I had to our today’s theme “Still Life” once again the agony of choice and could not quite decide which photo I should take.
Papas alte Kamera, Fotoalben aus den 50er und 60er Jahren und mein alter Kinderkoffer fielen mir ein, als ich mir Gedanken zum aktuellen Thema gemacht habe.
Dad’s old camera, photo albums from the 50s and 60s, and my old kid’s suitcase came to mind when I thought about the current topic.
The previous German government has decided to stop all coal related activities. This also includes mining of brown coal in enormous open pits. In particular the mine in the Hambacher forest was controversial. To increase popularity, or decrease protests, the owner, RWE, is busy building viewing platforms and a hiking and cycling path along the rim of the mine. From the terra nove platform the visitor can meditate about the microscopic movements of the world’s biggest excavators of a weight of 13.500 tons, length 220 m and 96 m of height. Despite their sluggishness each can remove another 240.000 tons from the giant pit daily.
A painter needs a number of items for a painting, a variety of brushes, paper or canvas and paint in tubes and in a palette. At the end, the finished painting expresses the feelings, the fear and the emotions of the painter.
