In den vergangenen Wochen bin ich immer mal wieder im Wolfsburger Umland unterwegs gewesen. Lang anhaltender Regen hatte zuerst Bäche und Flüsse über die Ufer treten lassen und Felder überschwemmt. Dann kam der Frost und hat die Natur erstarren lassen.
Over the past few weeks, I have been out and about in the Wolfsburg area. Prolonged rain initially caused streams and rivers to burst their banks and flood fields. Then the frost came and froze nature.

A beautiful day at our local wildlife refuge spent with my dear friend and fellow photographer Val. What could be better? Top image is a pair of Gadwall. A pretty bird with lots of detail in it’s plumage. Number 2 is a white faced Ibis, who’s face turns white during breeding season but who’s iridescent plumage is gorgeous year round. Number 3 is a Cinnamon Teal with it’s beautiful colored plumage, and number 4 is the magnificent and regal Pintail. Have a wonderful weekend and stay healthy.
At Bombay Beach, Salton Sea, I saw this Art Exhibition about “What’s on TV today” on maybe 50 or so displays (only a fraction shown here), I guess with the hint, that you get what you want to watch or what you should watch or bla bla bla…
Comparing American PBS and the German equipment TV Broadcasting Stations ARD and ZDF, the reporting on the killing in Gaza could not be more contrasting: “Not much to report vs a human tragedy unfolding”. I must say, I feel disgusted by the German Whitewashing TV News Reporting. How could those Who are controlling the media in Germany so easily look away? Or are they just following in their grandparents footsteps who looked the other way when Jews got picked up during the Hitler years in their neighborhoods and sent to concentration camps to be killed?
I thought, human dignity and human rights to a happy life are universal as expressed by UN declaration…

Der Winter muss ja nicht immer trist und grau sein, wie man sieht. Schon am Nachmittag gibt es tolle Himmelsfarben zu sehen, die in Kombination mit der passenden Architektur zu interessanten Bildern führen.
Winter doesn’t always have to be dreary and gray, as you can see. Even in the afternoon there are great sky colors to see, which in combination with the appropriate architecture lead to interesting pictures.
